Apparently they ripped apart the engine of the Ody today and found baked on oil as well as a nearly shattered crankshaft (not sure how it actually was, hearing this from my dad) so apparently we're gonna trade in the van for an identical 2007 Ody with half the miles...(60K vs. 120K). Yes, its more logical, but over those 120,000 miles and 9 years, you kinda bond with a car, especially if it was your family's first new one. I still have fantasies of a J37 swap, but that's def not gonna happen, seeing as just getting the J35 swapped would be $5000, and since my dad can get $6000 trade-in for it and the new car is $16,991 and if he can take the other dealership in small-claims court he can get up to $10000...making it a free purchase...so I'll keep updating as things work out, unfortunately saying goodbye to the old Ody but hi to a new one...too bad we couldn't get anything more fun...but it would be less reliable and my dad wouldn't want that... (I wanted to get an original Espace, cuz French minivan and over 25 years old, but yeah, no.)

Not really sure why you'd fantasize about J37 swapping an Oddy, but hey this is Oppo so whatever floats your boat.

I understand the want. I want to put an LS motor into an old pontiac trans sport, paint it blue with a white stripe down the center, and have the little red hash marks above the driver's side front fender. I will mount the engine in the middle, make it RWD, and paint the wheels black to make......TRANS SPORT GRAND SPORT!

Well, yeah, its not like a full-on dream but just to make it a little...faster? cuz vans are so boring otherwise...themanwithsauce gets it, tis ok if you don't :)

My dad drives a 2000 odyssey (and so do I, cuz my mom's 2010 CRV drives like a fruit salad) in the same color as the one in the link.
PS: By fruit salad I meant the steering feels like you are pushing a spoon through applesauce, the brakes and accelerator feels like you are pushing the pedals into strawberry jello and the shifter feels like you are biting into a peach. Ergo: fruit salad.

Ah, that's why I let my parents drive..
